I must down to the sea again
To the Rolling Sea and Sky
And All I ask is a Tall Ship
And a star to steer her by.

And the wheel’s kick
And the wind’s song
And the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face
And a grey dawn breaking

I must down to the sea again
For the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call
That may not be denied

And all I ask is a windy day
With white clouds flying
And flung spray
And blown spume
And seagulls crying.

I must down to the sea again
To the vagrant gypsey life
It’s the whale’s way
And the gull’s way
where the wind’s like a whetted knife.

And all I ask is a merry yarn
From a laughing fellow-rover
And a quiet sleep
And a sweet dream
When the long trick is over.

Sailing Monster Problems

I came in this morning intending to put up a post about Jessica Watson’s latest adventure, but was surprised to find that an evil person destroyed the years of work I put into developing this web site.  I have backups but not in a format that will allow me to easily restore this site.

Because I did not believe that anyone would be evil enough or motivated enough to do anything to this site, I did a poor job of backing everything up.  So now because of our financial situation it will be some time before I’m going to be able to rebuild the site.  Please forgive the inconvenience and be aware that we will be back up as soon as we can.

For now the old site is available at http:\\\oldsite
